Employment programmes

Unemployed, Employed Young people and Employers!

Conservation Volunteers Northern Ireland is offering places on the two new DEL training programmes, Training for Success and ApprenticeshipsNI, as well as Training for Employment.

So, please read on if you are an employer, unemployed, employed or have just left school and you want to work outdoors in the following areas:

  • as a gardener
  • in parks
  • grounds maintenance
  • greenkeeper
  • in garden centres
  • or any other horticultural trade

For Training for Success you do not need any qualifications to join, and you get a training allowance with a work placement while you work towards your qualification.

ApprenticeshipsNI offers opportunities to both employees and employers! If you are employed in the horticultural trades you can train towards relevant qualifications. If you are an employer you could up-skill your existing workforce. The cost of training is being met by DEL.

  • Training to give the confidence needed to find a job
  • Job sampling and work placement experience

What’s in it for the Employer?

Training for Success also gives employers the opportunity to develop a workforce with the specific skills to drive their business forward. Do you have an opportunity to provide a work placement (the trainee receives a training allowance, so you do not pay them!) for a young person? Please contact:
