Jana in English

After 3 years of studying Media and Computing, which means sitting at least 5 hours in front of my computer every day, I needed a change in my holidays. Furthermore, my English skills were not very good. What should I do?

My boyfriend worked with Conservation Volunteers earlier in the year. He was happy with the work, the landscape and the people. For this reason, I shut down my computer for 5 weeks and relocated to Northern Ireland.

Now, my English skills have improved and it’s good fun. I worked with different teams and projects, but mostly it’s about hands-on work with the Conservation Action Team. Every day I enjoy another bit of interesting work and new places, thereby I get to know Belfast and a wee bit of Northern Ireland. By working with Conservation Volunteers, I found an agreeable and cordial working atmosphere, particularly in the office at Beech House.

I can recommend Northern Ireland as a place to live. Belfast, the growing town, is impressive and the landscape of Northern Ireland is fascinating. The Mourne Mountains and the coast around the Giant’s Causeway for example, are a must for everybody who visits Northern Ireland.
